If The Oil Runs Out 1 of 6

If The Oil Runs Out 1 of 6 Video Clips. Duration : 9.90 Mins.

WORLD'S OIL WILL RUN OUT IN TEN YEARS... www.theinsider.org The latest measurements confirm that the world's oil and natural gas supplies are running out too fast. At some time between 2010 and 2020 the world's supply of oil and gas will fall below the level required to meet international demand. The US government is aware that we are about to endure a disastrous international energy shortage. According to Dr James McKenzie, a senior member of the climate change programme at the World Resources Institute in Washington, USA: "That's why we went to war in Iraq." We always knew the world's oil reserves would run out eventually. The oil was formed by natural geological processes which occurred over millions of years. Oil consumption presently exceeds 25 billion barrels a year and demand continues to spiral upward, out of control. The outcome is inevitable. In the 21st Century we rely on oil (petrol) and gas for transport - cars, lorries, ships, aircraft - as well as electrical power. We cannot survive without oil and gas, and when the supply runs out the great engine of Western civilization will finally grind to a halt. We are heading for an event that will be remembered as one of the great disasters of human history, and life is going to get harder for everybody as the day of reckoning draws nearer. In the years ahead, wars will be fought over oil and fuel as the oil-dependent superpowers struggle in vein to preserve our unsustainable way of life. We are entering a period of ...

Problem Reaction Solution (David Icke)

Problem Reaction Solution (David Icke) Video Clips. Duration : 7.58 Mins.

Please watch in HIGH QUALITY NufffRespect www.youtube.com David Icke: Problem Reaction Solution (NWO Destruction Mix 2009) What happens in terms of creating wars is a mind-manipulation technique called "Problem-Reaction-Solution"... and it works like this: Let's say you want to centralize power into fewer and fewer hands through the UN or NATO. If you did that openly and said, "This is what we want to do", there'd be a reaction against that. People would say, "Hey, this is a fascist state you want to create. Were not having this." But through this technique of Problem-Reaction-Solution, you can actually manipulate people to demand you do what you want to do anyway. So it works like this: First of all you create the problem, but you get someone else to be blamed for it. You then report that problem through the media in the way you want it reported - because the media is owned by the same people who own the banks, etc. You get the public to react to your problem by saying, "Something must be done; this can't go on; what are THEY going to do about it?". And at that point, THEY, who have covertly created the problem and blamed someone else, who gleaned that reaction of "Do Something", then offer the solution to the problems they have created. So if you take the world wars for example - after the first world war, which the financial centers of London and Wall Street, etc, funded all sides, power on this planet was in fewer hands than ever before (via the League of Nations ...

Democracy in Singapore

Located at the southern tip of the Malay peninsula, Singapore is surely a 'city-state' comprised of six small islands with dinky land area. Slightly more than 4 1/2 million habitancy occupy and area about 3 1/2 times the size of Washington, Dc.

After receiving their independence from British rule, that had been reestablished after World War Ii, Singapore, essentially an island nation, joined other island nations to become Malasia. This affiliation was short-lived and Singapore broke away and established a isolate country in the mid 1960s.

Nuclear Power

A parliamentary democracy was set up, with a Westminster system, a unicameral government with only one Chamber. Menagerial power rests with the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister. The office of President is in general a ceremonial one, but he does have dinky veto powers on the use of national reserves and judiciary appointments. The Presidency is an elected position, but it has only been contested once since Singapore became a nation. The Parliament is the legislative subject of the government.

The Members of Parliament are whether elected, non-constituency or nominated to their posts. The majority are elected to five year terms in a normal Election. The Mps relate whether singular Member Groups or Group Resentation Constituencies. There are 94 Mps; 84 elected Members, one non-constituency Mp and nine Nominated Mps.

The Nominated Mps, not representing any political party, are appointed by the President for 2 1/2 year terms. The slate of appointees is drawn up by a extra adopt Committee of Parliament headed by the Speaker.

There is essentially a one-party system controlled by the People's operation Party (Pap), though there are other political parties; the Workers' Party of Singapore, the Singapore Democratic Party and Singapore Democratic Alliance. Most analysts think Singapore to be a procedural democracy, rather than a true democracy. The nation has also been described as a "hybrid regime made up of authoritarian and democratic parts."

Though the elections have not been plagued by voter fraud and illegalities, it has been expensed that the electoral system has been manipulated by the Pap. It has also been alleged that the courts are aligned with the Pap. In essense, The Republic of Singapore is authoritarian with only a superficial resemblance to a true democracy.

The legal system is descended from English coarse Law, influenced by British Indian laws. Pap, the ruling party, rejects many of the democratic values laid out by the laws, accusing them of being 'Western' and not entirely favorable for Singapore. There are no jury trials. There is restricted freedom of speech in this multicultural, multiracial society. In 2005, three bloggers were convicted of sedition for posting racist remarks on the internet.

Criminal punishment ranges from heavy fines, to caning, to capital punishment for first degree murder and drug trafficking. Singapore has the top execution rate per capita in the world.

Despite the heavy-handedness, the system seems to work for this city-state. Tourists record that the city is clean, modern, cosmopolitan and relatively crime-free. There is good shopping, fine restaurants, sights to see and a new casino to draw even more money form the tourist trade.

The Causes and Symptoms of Radiation Poisoning

When radioactivity was first identified in the 1800s, scientists did not yet know about the hazardous effects of radiation and radioactive materials on human health. Many of the first scientists to explore radioactivity industrialized radiation poisoning, cancer, and other diseases as a direct succeed of their caress with radioactive materials. Since then we have learned about the dangers of radioactive materials and how to protect population from them.

There are many types of radiation, some of which are more harmful to human condition than others. Short-term exposure to gamma radiation--a form of very high energy radiation--can cause traumatic damage to any part of the body. Gamma radiation can pass straight through practically any barrier, even along with many concrete walls, so the damage it can levy to our soft internal organs is immense.

Nuclear Weapons

The two most common symptoms of radiation poisoning are vomiting and nausea. Symptoms may take some time after exposure to develop. Mild cases of radiation poisoning may take one or two days to develop, in some cases longer. In general, the sooner symptoms appear after exposure, the greater the risk to the patient's health.

Moderate doses of radiation can cause hair loss and bloody vomit in expanding to nausea, with symptoms setting in within a day of exposure. Severe radiation poisoning shows symptoms within an hour of exposure, along with diarrhea and high fever. Very high doses of radiation can cause dizziness, disorientation, and a drop in blood pressure. Half of all population who suffer severe poisoning parish.

Common sources of radiation poisoning include direct exposure to many radioactive materials, such as being in the same room as a sample of uranium without sufficient protection. The waste byproducts of nuclear power plants can also cause radiation sickness if they are not contained and disposed of properly. Nuclear weapons, which have not been used in warfare since the American bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, use radiation as their original destructive force.

Radiation can cause damage to the cells' Dna, encouraging the development of cancer. You may have heard of radiation being used to treat cancer, but that is a side-effect of the capability of radioactive substances to destroy cancer cells as well. Cancer doctors use small, very literal, doses of exact types of radiation to kill cancer cells without damaging the other parts of the body.

If you or someone you love has suffered from radiation poisoning, and you believe an additional one person's negligence is at fault, you may be able to win payment for your medical bills, losses, and suffering. Is Musharraf doing everything he can to protect your nuclear weapons? And number two, is he doing everything he can to help the United States in its war on terrorism? Benazir Bhutto: Well, I think Osama bin Laden must be rubbing his hands with glee as he looks at what's happening in Pakistan and how there is civil unrest in the country, how large parts of the tribal areas have fallen under the sway of his supporters as have parts of the frontier province and now they are moving into yet another state known as the northern area. Can the Indian Elephant Match the Chinese Dragon?

Can India match China and dominate the world? This examine comes to the mind of any discerning learner of history as the two Asian giants set course, each in its own way. China under Mao achieved independence from normal Chiang kai Shek in 1949.Chang was not a foreigner, thus it was only a convert of government and ideology. But India is dissimilar as the Hindus have not been masters in their own land for close to a thousand years. Ever since the Muslim invaders swept into India nearby 1000Ad the Hindus the main components of India were subjugated and conquered. No worthwhile Hindu rule existed and at the end of the Muslim rule (except for a very brief domination by the Maharattas and the Sikhs) the British took over. Thus when India achieved free time in 1947 it was free time in the literal sense as the Hindus after 1000 years became masters in their own land.

China was 2 years behind India and at that time India was economically the bigger power. But in a very short time the Chinese overtook India in roughly all spheres of business and world polity. In 1962 the Chinese also played a dirty game and reduced a naïve Indian leadership under Nehru to their knees with the Indian army routed all across the Himalayan border. In expanding China consolidated its hold on Tibet and stepped up a gentle obnoxious to cut off India. Presently China has only Japan (separated by the Sea of China) and Formosa to profess with, while India is moderately getting ringed by hostile elements like Pakistan in the west, Bangladesh in the east and the Maoists in the north in Nepal.

Nuclear Weapons

One of the reasons for all this possibly lies in the psyche of the Hindu, wherein he lacks aggressiveness. Thus we have a relevant myth of the meek and mild Hindu. The Chinese on the other hand have been aggressive and articulate. In expanding the Chinese have followed Mao's dictum 'power comes out of the barrel of a gun' and put it into telling effect with a weighty army backed by a nuclear arsenal. India on the other hand has followed the centuries old course of appeasement and lack of a proactive approach. possibly this is ingrained into Hindu plan that aggressiveness is just not there.

The effect is that at all times India is reacting to the Chinese moves and rarely has any coherent course existed except the dictum 'let us live in peace'. But power politics is not like that where domination is the name of the game. A weak government has also allowed fissiparous tendencies to flourish with the Naxalites controlling roughly 25% of Indian Territory and yet the Indian reactions are neither decisive nor proactive. In expanding the government by perpetuating the biggest ill of Hinduism the caste ideas by constitutional guarantees has divided Indian community as never before.

Industrially also the Indians are lagging behind China and the Gnp is less than half of China. We talk of democracy in a moralistic tone, but to what avail when thousands of farmers commit suicides even after 60 years of independence. As things stand India need a Bismarck to lead. The present prime priest a work banker cannot be the man to lead the Indian resurgence. In the mean time India cannot think big and must confine itself to parity with Pakistan. The Chinese will be laughing up their sleeve.

Top 10 Reasons Thorium vigor Should Supplant Uranium and Coal As vigor King

Thorium has been used for years in high ability camera lenses and microwave ovens. With many other uses thorium is now destined to be crowned king as an alternative vigor source. Although technically a nuclear energy, thorium properties lend itself to many advantages over uranium - and coal. Here are the "Top 10" reasons Thorium vigor is the most alternative vigor source in the world. Four of the top ten are for the most prominent reasons. The safety and potential survival of mankind.

Safer: Thorium does not furnish plutonium thereby greatly reducing if not eliminating the risk of nuclear proliferation. Safer: Thorium does not need nuclear fuel rods erasing all danger of nuclear melt down as seen in Japan. Safer: Thorium has less than 1% of the nuclear waste as uranium - profoundly safer for storage. Safer: Thorium is used to eliminate existing piles of nuclear arms. United States and Russian scientists are working in conjunction with one another on thorium technology to reduce plutonium in Russia. Energy: One ton of thorium can furnish as much vigor as 200 tons of uranium or as much as 3,500,000 tonnes of coal. This overwhelming declaration made by Carlo Rubia of the European organization For Nuclear Research. Energy: Thorium can be recycled providing more vigor efficiency than any vigor in the world. Abundant: There is practically 3 to 4 times more thorium in the earth's crust than uranium. Cost: Thorium technology will save billions of dollars in safety and transportation cost. safety because microscopic thorium waste means savings on maintenance and nuclear waste plants. transportation because fuel, guarnatee and other associated expenditures in the converyance of nuclear waste will be miniscule in comparison to uranium. Desalinate Water: Thorium waste can desalinate salt water to supply potable water. This can be a life saver on an international scale to countries that have water shortages. Rare Earth Metals: Some thorium deposits have valuable rare earth metals in them. Neodymium is one of the most abundant of the seventeen rare earth metals known. The United States has one of the largest thorium veins in the world that is rich in neodymium.

Nuclear Reactor

Only one of the seventeen rare earth metals is surely rare. The name to chronicle these elements "rare earth metals" was given over a century ago. There wasn't enough technology then to excerpt the metals so they were believed to be rare and the name stuck.

Neodymium is arguably the most prominent of the metals because of its wide use and national safety implications. Reconsider the following: Neodymium magnets are the strongest magnets in the world and are utilized in hybrid cars, aircraft generators, wind turbines, headphones, professional loud speakers, welder's goggles, incandescent light bulbs, computer disks, lasers that emit infrared light and more.

Thorium vigor in a Molten Salt Reactor

Thorium is plainly found as thorium-232 or Th-232. When the thorium decays it absorbs neutrons which in turn causes the Th-232 to furnish U-233 - which is fission. This process of fission or the splitting apart of the atoms releases profound amounts of energy. Not to be confused with uranium-235, which is very dangerous, the U-233 while producing vigor - loses its capacity for bomb making. Nuclear proliferation is virtually eliminated development the world a safer place. The Msr or molten salt reactor is a composition of two salts in a Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor.

The acronym for this very technical reactor is Lftr and pronounced "Lifter". Although there are other thorium reactors, Lftr is being touted as the safest and most vigor sufficient of them all - and for good reason. The salt in the Lftr allows the reactor to operate at very high temperatures without causing pressurization. This means no explosions like in the Fukushima vigor Plant in Japan. Thorium vigor is the most alternative vigor source in the world. It reproduces or recycles vigor from its former source rendering uranium and coal practically useless in comparison. With vigor efficiency levels at 200 to over 3 million times greater than uranium and coal respectively, thorium is the wave of our vigor future.

Do you think this may be why India has already built a multi-billion dollar thorium vigor plant?

Does Nuclear Power Lead to Weapons Proliferation?

You can make a bomb out of used fuel, but it is non-trivial

Not all used nuclear fuel material is favorable for bombs, particularly the materials found in spent reactor fuel that has undergone a full cycle of use in a reactor. A collection of plutonium and uranium isotopes, the usual materials used to form the core of a nuclear warhead, are found in spent nuclear fuel. The issue is that they are quite difficult to separate from the rest of the material. It possible to do, but not easy. Development a bomb out of used fuel is not a easy process. Current techniques need large infrastructure for refining the fuel and extracting the plutonium. This is the sort of manufactures that the United Nations security Council keeps a close eye on in the world today. There are very few nations with the scientific and market base principal to build this sort of industry who do not already have nuclear weapons or have chosen to not create them.

Nuclear Weapons

This is a point often missed by habitancy who lobby against using nuclear power or nuclear fuel reprocessing. They do not realize that a large part of the developed world has both the technical affluence and the available physical resources to create nuclear weapons and yet have chosen not to. The 'nuclear club', those nations who possess nuclear weapons is only composed of The United States, Russia, The United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and probably Israel. There are many wealthy nations that possess nuclear power plants who do not have nuclear weapons such as Canada, Germany, Japan, Finland, South Korea and many others. For the full list see Wikipedia's narrative on Nuclear Power By Country. These countries have chosen to use their technical potential to create prosperity rather than weapons. This is prominent because these countries demonstrate that it is by no means a certainty that improvement of nuclear power technologies leads to availability of weapons.

There will be more spent fuel to look after

This is true if the status quo about reprocessing continues. With our current system of once-through fuel use for most nuclear reactors, the volume of used nuclear fuel will certainly increase. With increased volume of fuel comes increased difficulty in transport, safety, accounting, and security. As more fuel is used and goes into discrete kinds of storage, the possibility that a mistake will be made somewhere does go up. In short, it makes thefts of used nuclear fuel more likely.

Someone can steal the fuel

So in the case that person steals used fuel, they will still need to accumulate passage to refining equipment if they wish to make a nuclear weapon. In order to get the used fuel to their equipment they would need to transport, most likely over quite a large distance, incredibly perilous material. Nuclear fuel has many 'features' that make it extremely hard to steal. For starters, the developed world keeps a very close eye on it. The regulations about the safekeeping and vehicle of nuclear waste are quite stringent, and rightfully so. The developed world does not like the possibility of whole nuclear armaments. Used fuel is a military asset and is ordinarily very intimately watched by the militaries of the developed world.

Secondly, used nuclear fuel is extremely radioactive. There are a collection of containers employed for the warehouse and vehicle of nuclear fuel, all designed to be safe as well as conspicuous. It would not be easy to hide and smuggle a used nuclear fuel bundle in its general container. If person changes the container, they risk exposing themselves to large amounts of radiation and toxicity. Assuming that person can steal the fuel without alerting the forces and move it into a container of their own that can correctly shield them from the radiation, they would have a great opening of smuggling the fuel elsewhere.

Lastly, radiation is something we can detect. If fuel went missing, it is possible that instrumentation used by the forces would be able to detect nuclear fuel unless it is inside extremely good shielding. It is prominent to keep in mind that there are some separate kinds of radiation being emitted by used fuel. Shielding all of them adequate that they are undetectable around would need an impressive container. Such a container is technically possible, however.

Do 'they' need to steal the fuel?

It is possible to create weapons-grade plutonium without creating electricity for a power grid first. This is finished using systems similar to those used during the Manhattan Project. These systems basically consisted of a large amounts of uranium close to each other with a moderating material in between. Fissions would take places as well as neutron-capture events that turn uranium-238 into plutonium-239, a favorite weapon material. If a country has passage to uranium ore and the manufactures mentioned above, they can finally build a crude nuclear weapon. We say crude because this technology took extremely wealthy nations a long time to perfect, and early bombs were nowhere near as excellent as more contemporary ones, even without considering the fact that we now use hydrogen bombs which are an additional order of magnitude more difficult to produce.

Protecting used fuel in the developed nations still makes tremendous sense, but it seems crucial that we also pay close attentiveness to the improvement of manufactures that can separate out weapons materials such as plutonium-239. These are some of the actions that are being taken already by the United Nations to suppress the chances of weapons proliferation in the world today. The political will of the Un security Council seems to be steady on this issue. They do not want weapons proliferation for some reasons. First of all, nuclear weapons terrify most of the habitancy in the developed world. It would be political suicide in the developed world to advocate policies that clearly lead to weapons proliferation. Secondly, nuclear weapons are part of the guess why the Un security Council has the members that it does. The superior forces power of the members of the nuclear club is not something they would like to see taken away from them. At the very least this is an area in which they do not want a level playing field where many states have nuclear weapons.

Megatons to Megawatts

Thanks to this joint schedule in the middle of the United States and Russia, hundreds of tons of extremely enriched uranium has been down-blended and used in United States nuclear reactors as fuel. This schedule has turned a huge amount of weapons-grade material into both beneficial vigor and resulting material that is no longer positively used for weapons.

Programs such as these are a crucial part of the nuclear disarmament of the world. Since much of the world uses uranium as an electricity source, it is guaranteed that the store price remains relatively high. A high store price encourages the dismantling of nuclear weapons and the safekeeping of the uranium stockpiles not just because they are dangerous but because they are incredibly valuable. It has been noted that without this schedule it is likely that the Russian stockpiles would not have been as well-cared-for in the time following the downfall of the Soviet Union.

Closing the nuclear fuel cycle

New reactor designs exist in discrete stages of improvement that make principal progress towards closing the nuclear fuel cycle. What this means is that there would be less nuclear waste from a system such as this. In system it may be possible to someday establish and engineer a system that will yield only very, very small amounts of waste.

These designs exist primarily on paper, but some of them have been prototyped in the past. We have good reasons to believe that many of them have principal merit, but scale prototypes are principal to refine their building and operation. We can currently make estimates on cost, but there are ordinarily a large amount of unknown or uncertain variables that will influence the cost of these theoretical reactors.

A lot of research is still required to be inevitable that these reactors can positively deliver as expected. The possibilities for time to come improvement are compelling because it seems possible to establish reactors that are more safe, dependable and inexpensive along with reduced proliferation risk. Some of these designs have systems wherein the fuel never leaves the reactor site for reprocessing. The reprocessing system is designed into the power plant so that there should not be a need to move large quantities of used fuel around for reprocessing and then redistribution. Each of these reprocessing systems would have to be very inexpensive in order to consist of one economically with each power plant. This is excellent because reprocessing facilities for today's fuel cycle cost some billion dollars.

Reprocessing techniques ordinarily involve chemically working with the fuel in the middle of intervals where it is in the reactor. There are a amount of approaches which will not be elaborated upon here. Suffice to say that there seem to be some practical proposals for safe and affordable nuclear power sources that will help sell out the threat of proliferation. This is claimed because they have some or all of the following properties:

they can burn up some of our current stockpiles of nuclear waste. they can be used to burn up weapons-grade materials, reducing the volume of nuclear stockpiles. the fuel cycles are designed so that the fuel is never in a state in which it is easy to steal and separate out plutonium or any other material beneficial for building nuclear weapons.

Nuclear technology brings perilous knowledge

If we say that advancing science in this area will bring about a more perilous world, we are relying on a amount of premises. First, we are assuming that some facet of anyone we learn can be applied to hurt people. This is a inexpensive assumption since every major technological improvement in modern history has brought with it more possibilities for Development weapons and war.

On the other hand, an equally valid argument is that the forward march of science has brought with it increased health, safety, and enjoyment for much of the world. The same chemistry that unlocked the dangers of guns and bombs made possible almost every facet of the contemporary era. Everything from the materials that make our homes and cars to the food we eat and the medicines we consume owes part of its intellectual heritage to basic chemistry. With advancing science comes an empowerment of humankind. It is clear that this power can be used by humans to do harm to each other. The inquire is whether it will be used as such.

This brings us to the second premise, that the net consequent of our advancing knowledge in this area will be negative. That is, the additional danger outweighs the possible benefits. Humans will use this developed technology more for evil than for good. This facility assumes that regardless of the good or evil nature of those habitancy who establish additional vigor technologies, their discoveries will lead to horror and pain for humankind.

For the purposes of discussion, the worst-case scenario is one in which the habitancy developing the technology are the ones who will use it. That is, the most developed nuclear nations in the world-the Usa, France, the Uk, Russia and China-will pick to use their powers for evil. In this case, they already have the power to do so. Fearing them is moot in this discussion.

A more inexpensive scenario is that the technology or the materials complicated will be stolen by person else, and used for evil. For this discussion, see the above section on about how someone can steal the fuel. The scientific discoveries have shown that these weapons that we all fear so much are thankfully relatively hard to build. The fact is that the personal stance on nuclear weapons is rather homogeneous throughout the world. habitancy fear them, and rightfully so. Those nations that reconsider producing them are quite likely acting somewhat in their own self-defense. Rights of a nuclear arsenal is pretty much warrant that no one is going to invade you. Much of the world fears and distrusts the nuclear powers because they quite positively have doomsday machines, and that isn't something most habitancy want to exist at all.

How can we sell out the world's nuclear weaponry?

Hampering the improvement of nuclear power plant research or building will not change the fact that nuclear arsenals exist. Nor will it stop the creation of weapons by nuclear club countries that pick to build them. What these actions might do however is change the markets adequate that uranium and other nuclear materials become easier to obtain. In this case there would be limited to no principal use for the existing stockpiles and manufactures except to build weapons, and sell them to the highest bidder. The economics of the arms industry are terrifying to peace-loving citizens of the world.

We should instead look for actual solutions to the problems at hand. The world has nuclear arsenals that should never be used except perhaps to defend the earth itself from an asteroid collision or something similar. That definite issue requires very impressive rocketry, astronomy, and navigation, but not very much of a nuclear arsenal. If the political will is there, the developed world can continue to lead a disarmament of the world. We have shown that we as a species are politically capable of cutting down our weapons stockpiles. It is the responsibility of each and every-peace loving habitancy of the world to support the continued reduction in nuclear arms.

The political will also currently exists in the nuclear nations to ensure that other nations do not accumulate the potential to yield nuclear weapons. Yes they have failed to stop the improvement of all such weapons, North Korea being a illustrious example. This is one area however that the citizens of the nuclear nations should stand together on. It should make abundant political sense for the nuclear nations to present a united front with regards to their dedication to stopping the improvement of nuclear weapons in the world. Of policy this is only positively morally justifiable if these same nations undertake large nuclear disarming of their own militaries as well as take steps to warrant that they will not be used against other human targets. It is the responsibility of every habitancy to make it be known that this is their clear wish for the direction of their country.

Supporting the economics of the nuclear power manufactures makes sense. If nuclear materials are extremely valued and profitable in terms of energy, there will be a disincentive to create weapons with them. There will also be additional incentive to safeguard them against theft and misuse. Thus it makes sense to support the prolonged research into newer and cleaner forms of nuclear power so that this manufactures can continue to exist and improve.

The nuclear power plants that are currently being built and used in the world are by no means ideal. They leave a lot to be desired in a amount of areas that we have gone into here and elsewhere on this site. What we as implicated citizens of the world should support is better fuel management and use. developed reactors, if we support their research and construction, should be capable of reducing the amount of material in the world that can be made into weapons. It is also the case that many of todays reactors can help sell out our used fuel stockpiles, if we support the use of reprocessing technologies. Many of todays reactors can use reprocessed fuel, but do not for economic and political reasons. With broad-based support and subsidization from the citizenry in the interest of peace, these disadvantages of reprocessed fuel will go away.

Economically, reprocessed fuel is currently a bit more costly than fuel that has been created out of natural uranium. This variation in price is not necessarily permanent. It is foreseen, that eventual advancement in reprocessing technology will lead to economic advantages over fuel freshly created from natural uranium. Additionally, proposed fuel cycles for next-generation reactors are foreseen, to employ much less costly reprocessing techniques. These techniques are less costly because these newer fuel cycles are being designed with economics and security in mind rather than bomb-making. The main fuel cycle of currently existing nuclear power plants owes its origin to weapon improvement programs such as the Manhattan task in the United States. These fuel cycles were designed in an attempt to create a nuclear weapon as fast as possible. That is, the currently used fuel cycle was purposely prime because it seemed to be the easiest and fastest way to create the materials for nuclear weapons. In this sense it makes abundant sense for us to support the improvement of safe reprocessing techniques for currently existing fuel as well as support the improvement of developed fuel cycles and developed reactors that are designed to be safe, economic, and proliferation-resistant.

Politically, reprocessing is currently held back because habitancy fear that the same facility and techniques could be used to separate out weapons material rather than for reprocessing fuel. It is true that some contemporary reprocessing facilities could be used to separate out weapons material from used fuel. This can only happen however if the habitancy running or overseeing the facility choose to do that. The national governments of the nuclear club keep a close tab on their reprocessing facilities. It should be made clear that the creation of weapons material in these facilities would only be possible if the government allowed it to happen. If the populace is defiant in its commitment against the building of nuclear weapons, the government would be forced to act out these wishes. In the case of the nuclear club, this point is moot because they already have nuclear arsenals. For those countries of the developed world that do not have weaponry, this is also moot because they have chosen not to create arsenals. Non-nuclear nations may not have the opening of developing this sort of technology or facility due to international pressure. These nations would perhaps be able to negotiate a reprocessing trade with a  peaceful nuclear nation that already performs reprocessing such as Japan.

It makes sense to support developed reprocessing in order to sell out the amount of used nuclear fuel we have to keep safe in the future. Supporting developed reprocessing would mean that we would be taking some of the burden off of time to come generations to store and deal with our used fuel. All things considered, supporting reprocessing makes sense in a global task of nuclear disarmament. Citizens should educate themselves on the basics of the matter as presented here and elsewhere, and make their choice. The inquire of whether reprocessing will continue to be pursued is primarily a inquire of whether the people of the nuclear nations will support it.

Does nuclear power increase weapons proliferation?

Arguments can positively be made to support whether side of this argument. This narrative gives examples of valid arguments on both sides of the issue. In general it is clear that insight of nuclear vigor fundamentals is a prerequisite for creating nuclear weapons. In this area however, the proverbial cat is out of the bag. Pandora's box has been opened. The knowledge exists and is relatively widespread. The real inquire is what to pick to do with the knowledge that the world now has.

The developed world does not want nuclear proliferation, so they take measures to guard against it. Some argue that these measures are not enough. Some argue that nuclear power plants are contributing to a proliferation qoute by expanding the availability of nuclear materials such as used fuel. On the other hand it can be argued that nuclear power plants are steadily using up the world's contribute of nuclear warhead material, and also that their used fuel is in a state that makes it very difficult to turn into a nuclear weapon.

It is possible to do however, which is the crux of the argument. This possibility however depends entirely upon developed technology principal for extracting inevitable isotopes of plutonium and uranium from the fuel. This technology is determined watched for by the nuclear nations. In order for a rogue state to establish a nuclear weapon in this way, they would have to hide their developed equipment from the countries in the world with the most excellent militaries and economies, and the most whole brain networks on the planet. The rogue state has drawn the short straw in this situation. It seems to be incredibly difficult to create a weapon without the developed world learning about it.

Stealing a completed weapon might be easier, but would likely need developed forces potential or espionage, both things that the nuclear nations also pay very close attentiveness to. Regardless, stealing a completed weapon is not the focus of this discussion. This argument is about whether using nuclear power for electricity contributes to proliferation risk.

Lastly, newer conceptions of the nuclear power plant should be capable of producing extremely limited waste. They should also be capable of using up some of our currently existing stockpiles of used fuel if reprocessing techniques are supported politically. Some of these proposed reactors are developing a large following because of their planned practicality, safety, and anti-proliferation properties. Fuel in some of these reactors is never in a form that is easy to turn into a bomb. Reactors such as these are a logical next step for the fission industry. Capable of burning up the used fuel stockpiles of the world, these reactors may one day end our fears of nuclear proliferation because there will be no more large nuclear material stockpiles.

Our conclusion is that improvement of nuclear power that is properly managed and regulated should not lead to increased proliferation risk. With the precise political will and backing, nuclear power can lead to a much safer world, especially if improvement of developed reactors and reprocessing facilities is supported and determined regulated by the implicated citizens of the world. It is our belief that research into these developed technologies deserves our support because they have such large possible to great the lives of all humanity. The application of these technologies for good rather than evil depends on the courage of the habitancy of the developed world to make clear to their government that they want to live in a safer world with minimal nuclear stockpiles and conscientious management of our nuclear materials to maximize the benefit and minimize the risk that these materials embody.

Declassified US Nuclear Test Film #48

Declassified US Nuclear Test Film #48 Tube. Duration : 19.83 Mins.

0800048 - US Navy Presents Nuclear Effects at Sea - 1976 - 20:30 - Black&White - This video details the effects of high-altitude nuclear tests of greater than a megaton thermonuclear yield on ships, satellites, and personnel. These blasts produce an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that can knock out electrical components over a wide area and destroy electrical systems in planes, ships and satellites. The blast causes flash blindness and retina damage to an individual looking at the blast and can cause damage to the eardrums. The air pressure can damage a ship, even causing a roll over. Also, the blast can destroy the outside structure of a ship. The thermal radiation weakens or melts the outside metal surface and burns the skin, similar to the resultant effects of a fire. The nuclear radiation, consisting of x-rays and neutrons, alters and destroys cells and causes radiation sickness. The three-phase symptoms of radiation sickness are the initial reaction; the latent phase with no symptoms; and the final phase, requiring hospitalization. It was determined that the ships crewmen must take cover in hardened spaces below the water line to escape the effects of radiation. Nuclear radiation also causes failure of the ships electrical systems. From underwater bursts, the shock wave travels in all directions, damaging ships in its path. A surface burst shown causing direct shock damage to the ships hull and secondary damage to interior components.

Thoughts On Nuclear Power as a Source of Emission Free power

For decades, the terms nuclear power have sent feelings of fear in those hearing them. We have all been influenced by the movies and reports on the devastating impact that nuclear power can have on our Nation. However, nuclear power can also be a certain thing for our Nation, contribution as an alternate source of emission free energy. Used properly, nuclear reactions can be used to generate energy in the forms of heat and electricity.

Few population realize that many countries, together with the United States are already using nuclear power as a source of energy. The United States uses nuclear power to provide up to 20% of the thorough usage. Other countries use it a lot more. For example, France produces up to 80% of its energy from nuclear power.

Nuclear Power

Not only is nuclear power able to yield emissions free energy, study indicates that using it can help reverse the greenhouse effects. That is one of the main reckon environmentalists are pushing so hard for nuclear power to replace the use of fossil fuels. The issue has been pushed to the back burner for decades. However, the government and the population have found a renewed interest in nuclear power as an energy source due to the continuous rise in the price of oil. The midpoint population is frustrated and worried about the high price of gas, with no relief in sight.

Some developers worry about the risk of construction nuclear power plants. Special designs are being considered to help prevent accidents from occurring. Someone else concern is the possibility of radioactive contamination from such nuclear power plants. It seems every person wants to use the energy, yet no one wants a plant to be built in their area. Additional worries involve nuclear power plants being used in terrorist's attacks.

The anticipation of using nuclear power as an emissions free energy source is very good. With the right technology, it may one day replace fossil fuels as our main source of energy. Doing so would supervene in the United States being less dependent on other countries that provide us with vast amounts of oil. Until the actual risk can be assessed, this idea will continue to be in the works with the government, researchers, and designers.

Tritium Watches - They Glow in the Dark

Tritium is both plainly occurring and man-made. It is very beneficial for watch dials and other displays that can be read at night.

Tritium is a radioactive isotope of the element hydrogen. The chemical emblem for hydrogen is H. Tritium, emblem H3, occurs plainly in the atmosphere from the reaction of cosmic rays and air molecules. It is also produced in nuclear reactors during output of electricity. Tritium is composed of an atom of hydrogen with one proton and 2 neutrons giving it an atomic weight of 3.

Nuclear Reactor

Tritium has a half-life of about 12-1/2 years. This means that 1/2 of the customary number will decay in 12-1/2 years. While this half life is relatively brief in the world of radioactive materials, this gives tritium some beneficial properties. Tritium when encapsulated in watches, exit signs, aircraft gauges and other applications, will glow for up to 25 years.

The radioactive decay of tritium is not perilous to man in these applications because it emits a very weak beta particle that can be stopped by even a piece of paper. Since the tritium is encapsulated in small packets made of glass or plastic, radiation doesn't reach the skin.

The benefits of this decay is a piquant display that can really be read at night. The light emitted is not illustrated during the day, but at night, the glow is very visible. This makes tritium very favorite for night visibility applications. Pilots, the military, police and others like the visibility without having to press any buttons to read the display.

Several watchmakers are now using tritium displays for their displays. They have displays that far exceed the brightness of proper luminescent watch dials that require "charging" by exposure to light. These have come to be very favorite watch styles with the general public as well as military, pilots and law enforcement.

Tritium watches come in many styles and prices. There is a style for just about anyone. Now you can tell the time in the dark and be in style at the same time.

Japan in News: The latest Earthquake Brings a Tsunami of Troubles

Last Friday, Japan was unraveled by, what may be termed as possibly one of the most horrible earthquakes ever. The subsequent 10-meter high tsunami trampled the whole of the Pacific coast of the country, sweeping away ships, vehicles, people, and homes alike. Though the early warning systems did cut the chances of some loss of life, the death toll has now crossed 10,000, many are still missing, and thousands have lost their homes. The earthquake, measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale, has shifted the island by practically 8 feet and is thought to have affected the earth's axis.

The Japanese Government is battling at so many fronts simultaneously that it is not literally able to correlate the exact level of destruction. The estimate, on the basis of the specifics received so far, is currently being pegged at an wonderful billion. The reconstruction efforts after this catastrophe are thinkable, to be the greatest ever attempted in the world. The tsunami in Japan has been particularly responsible for cutting all the transportation lines and power supplies in the earthquake-stricken areas. This, in turn, has resulted in even bigger concerns about the alleged nuclear radiations from the Fukushima Daiichii atomic plant. In increasing to the irreversible damage to reactors No. 1 and 3, fresh fire at reactor No. 4 and an alarming rise in temperature at reactors 5 and 6 have given rise to worries over a probable meltdown of the fuel rods and the extraction of large-level radiations in the environment! Japan has total 54 nuclear setups that constitute 30% of its total electricity supplies. Eleven out of these, together with the Fukushima reactor, are situated in the affected north-eastern belt and have been closed. Restoring these power sources is not likely to happen for some extended periods of time and this implies further cost of entertaining over to oil-based electricity generation. The Japanese authorities are drawing commentary from the world community, due to mismanagement and suppression of actual information. The nuclear urgency in Japan is being rated 5, next only to the Chernobyl disaster of 1986, and currently, it is impossible to rate the costs on this account.

Nuclear Reactor

Japan is already full of a amount of economic challenges and the most recent events have been a major setback to its economic salvage process. All of the affected areas have been rendered totally non-functional, where trading of daily essentials is also suffering from a shortage of supplies. Though the commercial zones in Japan have not been directly affected by the earthquake and tsunami, production is now at halt in many parts. The converyance manufactures is among the worst hit by the tsunami and there have been huge occasion costs of lost production. Foreign employees are being evacuated, while auto majors, such as Honda, Toyota, and Nissan have stopped operations. There have been over 110 aftershocks to the Friday's earthquake until now, with the latest, 6.0 on Richter scale, to hit Tokyo on Wednesday. It is yet to be seen either the current troubles subside or a fresh round of events throw Japan further out of gear.

German Panzer Tanks - The preferred Weapon of the Blitzkrieg

Panzerkampfwagen Iv is a medium sized war tank that was advanced in late 1930's while Second World War in Nazi Germany. At the time of its design, Panzer Iv was not intended to be engaged as an enemy armor as this was supposed to be a maintain tank to be used against enemy anti tank guns and fortifications. Due to existing flaws in the canon becoming certain and in the dawn of Soviet T-34 tanks, Panzer soon assumed fighting tank role.

What has lead to amelioration of Panzer tanks? The main strategy of German military while the war was to use fast keen motorized infantry and artillery which could be supported by dive bombers in order to target one single section of the enemy group. Once Adolf Hitler gained the reins in 1933, the German government went ahead with its tank production. while spring time in 1934 the German army used Panzer tank I for the first time.

Nuclear Weapons

This was just the starting as the years ahead witnessed the serial release of a line of Panzer tanks. In the following year, Panzer Ii capable of carrying a three man crew was introduced. This tank weighed 7.2 tons and consisted of a 20mm cannon and a machine gun in its turret. The 130hp machine enabled this machine to reach 25mph on a decent surface. However, this tank underwent any changes until 1937 when Panzer Iii was introduced.

Panzer Iii weighed 15 ton and had a 230hp motor capable of carrying a five men crew and with a 37mm gun. Someone else tank to be introduced in this year was Panzer Iv. Produced by Krupp, this tank weighed 17.3 tons and was armed with a 75mm short gun along with two machine guns in the turret and was able to carry a five men crew. The armour protection in this tank ranged from 8mm to 30mm in thickness while the 230hp machine gave it a speed of 18mph.

The potential and efficiency of Panzer force was proved in 1939 while the Poland invasion. It was clear that Panzer I was most inappropriate to be used while war. While though Panzer Ii and Panzer Iii were reliable, they were outgunned. The only tank that could overcome all hurdles was Panzer Iv. This tank had perfect mix of speed, agility, firepower and reliability. Panzer Iv has proved themselves on any occasions. while the invasions of Poland and France these tanks have lived up to the expectations of military. Thus German Panzer tanks became the favourite of the armed forces.

Soon, the later years saw wide manufacturing and deployment of German Panzer tanks in Second World War. Thus Panzer Iv tank became the base for many other war fighting vehicles like destroyer tanks and self-propelled anti aircraft guns. This tough and trustworthy war tanker was used in all combat theatres and is known to be the only German war tank that was produced throughout the year.

Wise Nations Are Not Cutting Nuclear Power Out of Their power Equation

Forgoing nuclear vigor is unwise for developed nations, especially inspecting all the new technology in that space, and the capability to use the fuel rods so much longer. Today's nuclear technology isn't whatever like that of the old technology. It's safer, more efficient, and able to all but eliminate the need for large long-term storage facilities. Okay, so let's talk about what's going on out there in the near-term, and why this is going to be a problem.

In Nuclear Power Daily Online News there was an description titled; "Saudi to Build 16 Nuclear Reactors" by the staff writers in Riyadh published on June 1, 2011 which stated the scheme would take decades to unblemished and cost million - "the reactors to be used in generating electricity and desalinating sea water and cover about 20% of Saudi Arabia's electricity needs." an additional one description in the same online publication, on the same day was titled; "India Stands firm on Nuclear Power" written by staff writers in New Delhi.

Nuclear Power

Meanwhile in Germany there have been protestors and Merkel's party acquiesced to politics and announced that it would shut down All of their nuclear power plants by 2020, which one might note is a short-term political knee jerk reaction, and it's going to be costly for Germany in the long-term. In fact, there was a great description in the Economist on June 2, 2011 titled; Nuclear? Nein, Danke - A Nuclear Phase-Out Leaves Germans vigor course in a Muddle."

Yes, indeed, I'd say that's about right. The leader paragraph in that description stated that after the horrific Japan natural disaster and nuke plant meltdowns, Germans had a change of heart on nuclear vigor with anti-nuke protest flags and all; "The response by Merkel the swiftest change of political course since unification, last year they overturned a decade-old decision to phase out nuclear power by 2022."

In fact, Peter Fairley at Mit's Technology quote seems to agree in a piece he wrote on June 3 titled "What'll a Nuclear-Free Germany Cost? - Merkel's plan to transfer nuclear reactors for offshore wind farms and a stronger grid could cost more than expected," and suggests that it will cost the average household in Germany -60 per year, plus short-term issues with reoccurring blackouts. Solar and Wind are not going to cut it either, expect more coal-fired plants, clean-coal technology enabled that is.

China has also cut its nuclear ambitions, but it is having challenges with water supply, thus, not getting enough out of their hydro-electric energy. They've been construction coal-fired plants at a rapid pace but, that's not doing them any good on the world scene amid the call for discount of green-house gases, and they are doing some but relatively itsybitsy fully integrated clean coal plants. They've scraped their nuclear plans for now, but will have to re-consider, as they have vigor issues and challenges as any developed nation does.

The world should not be in such a rush to cut nuclear power out of their vigor choices, and all this knee jerk reaction is simply unwise. Smart nations are thinking long-term and understand the value of nuclear power. Please reconsider all this and think on it.

Reprocessed Nuclear Waste - The Way of the Future?

Nuclear power has always been controversial. Even before the Trinity nuclear test, nuclear physicists have had their reservations. From the 1950's bomb security drills to Chernobyl, virtually every improbable disaster short of an all-out nuclear war has occurred. So why would anyone in their right mind be a proponent of nuclear energy?

Face it, we can't put the genie back in the bottle. Nuclear proliferation is a fact of life and all the wishful mental is not going to change that. Although we can always strive to cut the threat, we cannot ever realistically expect that every country is going to drop all its nuclear deterrents let alone reactors that power in some cases, entire cities.

Nuclear Power

If we can't turn back the clock, we can at least be more responsible about how we go about using nuclear technology. Once nuclear waste is produced as a byproduct of nuclear energy, it becomes an ecological threat to us all. Perhaps even more disturbing is the fact that we have the technology to not only dramatically cut the estimate of waste produced but also to reprocess this waste as beneficial fuel and yet we are not doing this.

In France, 80 percent of its electricity is currently generated by reprocessed nuclear waste. Although the United States originally industrialized this technology, it has since taken a back seat to France under the excuse that reprocessed nuclear fuel is too expensive. The plan that a sealed waste package that has the potential to be used as a dirty bomb and kill thousands is apparently not leading enough to give incentive to reprocess this waste.

Despite the threat, we continue to ignore the reality that once produced, this radioactive waste can remain a biological hazard for up to 3 million years according to a narrative from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.

Although the squeeze by Opec and the vigor emergency has been instrumental in some countries to organize alternative ways to safeguard the environment, the United States has been slow compared to places like Brazil that because of their climate, can out-produce many nations in biofuel output made from sugarcane. In fact, 46 percent of all their vigor used is produced from renewable resources.

Sure it would be best to use a biodegradable fuel source instead of nuclear power, but this does not change the fact that it is unlikely that any public protests or lobbying will be enough to put an end to nuclear reactors. If we can't stop the threat, why not use it more responsibly at least? Using France's model, the United States could cut the estimate of nuclear waste it abandons by tenfold. Moreover, in the process, we would not only produce a more responsible way to handle this waste, but also be able to reprocess it to cut our dependence on oil and the foreign powers that control this resource.

In many areas of the United States, most electrical power used is authentically generated by nuclear means. If all these plants went offline overnight, not only would there be extended blackouts, but also our vigor bills would go through the roof from the few viable vigor alternatives currently available. Pragmatically speaking, we can't put the genie back in the bottle, but we can tame it to be more responsible before nuclear waste leaks out into our water supplies or is used maliciously against us. Yes it may be initially more high-priced to reprocess this waste, but from a security standpoint, can we afford not to?

Alternative energy Sources - Advantages of Solar Power

The next time you go to fill up your car with petrol, diesel or even the more up-to-date innovation of bio fuel think about the fact that it will be one of the last times you do this. Okay, so it is still going to be a good few years until these sources of fuel run out completely, but, as prices continue to rise, technology continues to thrive on creating new devices that use alternative power resources. Bio fuels might still be around a bit longer than the others, but finally we will be using more undoubtedly gained and renewable resources.

At the moment there are three main sources of alternative energy, but before we have a look at them let us ask ourselves a very easy quiz, - is alternative power undoubtedly a new concept? Why should we ask ourselves this? Well, when it comes to using the power of wind to do something for us that we would rather not do ourselves then history is teaming with evidence of wind power being utilised in our past. We had navigation ships up until the later part of the 19th century, we used and still use wind power to some extent to grind wheat.

Nuclear Power

There is even evidence of a wind power land car that used a sail to capture the wind and catapult it and it's enthusiastic passenger over the land. Hydro power might seem like a new concept, but again if we take a step back in time we will see that water from rivers was used to turn wheels with the purpose of grinding grain. Solar power, again, may seem like a new invention, but if we take a look out of our living room window and into our pretty gardens then we will undoubtedly be humbled by the fact that evolution has used solar (sun) power for millions of years to provide power for plants. The advantages of solar power are definite if we just look up.

What we have done more recently is not so much produce alternative power sources, but rather to re-invent them to suit the modern needs of today.

How Do Nuclear Power Plants Work?

Nuclear power is an affordable variant to fossil fuels. Nuclear power plants grow by numbers every year and they conduce majorly towards the whole electricity produced. The basic principle behind is nuclear fission. These plants depend on the heat produced when one atom divides into two.

Inside a nuclear power plant, the vigor given out by enriched Uranium is optimized and water is allowed to heat into steam. Uranium is converted into pellets measuring 2.5 cm lengthwise with diameter similar as a dime. The pellets are then arranged like long rods and bundled together. The bundles are swamped in water within a vessel under pressure. The water works as a coolant. The submerged bundle must be capable of sustaining a chain reaction in such a manner it makes the reactor work. If left by own, uranium would finally swelter and melt.

Nuclear Reactor

To thwart over heating, operate rods that could digest neutrons are put into the uranium bundle employing a mechanism that can lift up or drop the operate rods. Nuclear reaction is thereby controlled via raising and lowering the operate rods. When the operator wants the uranium to yield more heat the operate rods are raised at last spirited smaller number of neutrons. For the vice versa to happen the rods are dropped into the uranium bundle. The reactor can be shut down by lowering the operate rods totally into the uranium bundle.

Uranium acts as a high source of heat energy. The water is heated and converted into steam. The steam vigor forces a turbine that in turn turns a generator to create power. In some reactors, the steam from the reactor goes straight through a secondary heat exchanger and then drives the turbine. This is done because the radioactive steam should never experience the turbine. Furthermore, the coolant used in the reactor is whether gas or liquid metal which allows the reactor to operate at elevated temperatures.

A concrete liner guards the reactor vessel and acts as a radiation protect. The liner is placed inside a huge containment vessel. The containment vessel has the reactor core inside and acts as a wall to avoid outflow of any radioactive gases. The final outer layer shielding the containment vessel is a concrete building which can experience monolithic damages from any natural calamity like earth quake or an accident.

All these traditional and secondary shielding should be done properly to ensure safety. Forever population cannot forget the Chernobyl catastrophe that happened due to improper doing and poor design.

Why Iran Needs Nuclear Weapons

Many disturbing words are written about Ahmadinejad, Iran's leader. That he believes the next Imam is coming. That a child who was thrown down a well will rise again. That he denies the holocaust. That he supports the cause of the working class in Iran. That he wants his country to have nuclear power. But let's not be hasty about his beliefs. America has a leader who believes that a man who was nailed to a tree two thousand years ago will save him from Hell. The Uk has a leader who believes the American leader. And lets not beat nearby the bush.

Iran Needs nuclear weapons. It does not need nuclear power. It has enough oil for itself and its young 70million odd population. It needs nuclear weapons because it needs to defend itself. It needs the threat that North Korea has - to be "un-attack-able". The first rule of American forces politics now is that the state you attack has to be undefendable. Iraq had nothing, nothing! And American and Uk planners knew this. This is why they did not say that al-Qaeda was in North Korea. North Korea has nuclear weapons. This is why they did not say that al-Qaeda was in Pakistan. Pakistan has nuclear weapons (and they are compliant). They said that al-Qaeda was in Iraq. Al-Qaeda, in all its shapes and forms, has not admittedly been into a champagne-guzzling regime like Saddam Hussein's. Iraq was defenceless. It had nothing. And the Amerikans knew it.

Nuclear Weapons

Iran knows too well that its democratically elected government can be overthrown by the Cia, American and Western interests. admittedly discover the Shah. Iran's defence policy, for any rational man who understands Amerikan Real Politik, and who understands what causes that great monster to move, and who knows the history of Iran will know that Ahmadinejad Needs nuclear weapons to deter an American attack. The Americans are already at his border. They have already busy his neighbour. Its client state Israel has nuclear weapons, and (despite their failure with Hizbollah) a extremely effective army. Virtually everyone in the state has forces training. Iran only has the most precious commodity on earth, oil. You can't set fire to all that oil on the soil of Amerika. You need a bloody big bomb to deter the narrow fascist state that is America. What would your policy be if you had armies on your borders who have slight qoute in invading a country on any pretext? You would want that invasion to be unwinnable. The same politics that informed America and Ussr mutually assured destruction in the cold war applies here.

Ahmadinejad, for all his failings, knows this. He may be a nutcase. If we read and believed all the Western reporting then we would assume so. We would also assume the same about George Bush Jr. But the aspiration to nuclear weaponry (let's not pretend its for energy), is a sensible policy in a world where America can keep its clients with lethal weaponry for no regard to life nor limb, nor age nor infirmity, nor right nor wrong (wrong place + wrong time = "soft target"). It can only respect annihilation as the appropriate deterrent. Hence, Iran needs a big gun.

Ahmadinejad stands for his own country and people. And says it loud. And he understands that even if Iran had done nothing, and was the purest of the pure states, they would still be liable to invasion if they upset American corporate interests.
