Waiting For the Apocalypse

As I near my 60th birthday (it's in December), I have found myself in a deeply reflective place. I guess that birthdays ending in a zero can have that effect. I've been particularly intrigued with the way that inevitable historical events have impacted me emotionally. I grew up during the Cold War, and in elementary school we practiced getting under our desks to safe ourselves from nuclear weapons. Finding back, it's hard to fantasize anything more ridiculous. A nuclear weapon detonating in any place near our school would've resulted in the instant annihilation of every single child, desk and classroom for miles around. Why were we made to institution doing something that would've been so utterly useless? To this day, I'm not entirely sure.

In essence, I grew up with the feeling that doom was just colse to the corner, that the Apocalypse was only a heartbeat away. When the Cuba missile accident happened, in 1962, I was 12. The next year Kennedy was assassinated, and like many of us who experienced that time I felt as though something deep inside my soul had broken. By 1964 I had already begun to oppose the growing Vietnam war. As the war broadened, snaring millions of young Americans in the draft system, I felt pretty helpless. Yes, I demonstrated. I counseled draft resisters; helped put out an private paper (the Peace Pipe - I was the poetry and hippie life editor). I "Raged against the dying of the light," as Dylan Thomas wrote so poignantly - and through it all, I dreamed of a peaceful world.

Nuclear Weapons

Why bother going to school? I thought. The world is just going to blow up anyhow. But I did go, and finally the Vietnam War ended. For a while, my sense of an impending apocalypse faded. Then inflation roared to life, and the pundits warned that the theory was going to break down and there would be food riots in the streets. My house became so concerned that we bought some acreage in the mountains of northern California and prepared to ride out the coming storm of economic collapse.

It didn't happen, of course. After 18 years, convinced that we lived in a more stable world, we sold the land and moved on. That was in 1998. Three years later, on 9/11, it seemed as though the four Horsemen had finally come for a visit. The stock store had imploded with the .com bust, and it seemed to me as though our lives would never be the same again. Even though most of us finally located into the new normal, the question, "When is the next hammer going to fall?" has never been very far away. There have been fullness of hammers, haven't there? Afghanistan, Iraq, Katrina, and the apocalyptic financial meltdown we're still struggling through. Gee whiz, boys and girls, are we having fun yet?

I now realize how much of my life has been framed by waiting for the Apocalypse. It's one of the reasons I drank so much for so long - it helped numb the terror. If you unquestionably knew me, you would know that I often still feel as though I am waiting for the Apocalypse. In a way, I think most of us are, even if the only Apocalypse is our own death. Not whether we die in some cataclysmic apocalypse (wouldn't that be dramatic?) But simply that we die.

Here's my point: knowing that some Apocalypse (whether personal or planetary) is coming, we can whether choose to cower in a corner, or (almost defiantly) live each moment filled with a cornucopia of rich experiences. No matter how much time we have (ten days or 10,000), our lives are defined by the choices we make in each moment. I've spent much of my life afraid of what "might" happen - and I have missed much. As I turn towards the final decades of my life, I pledge to redouble my efforts to live 100% fully alive, no matter what might be looming just over the horizon. Are you willing to make a similar pledge? I'd sure like some firm on this journey.

James Taylor music: www.amazon.com Watch the full show: thesixtiesarchive.blogspot.com Once recovered, Taylor moved to California, keeping Asher as his manager and record producer. In December 1969, he held the recording sessions for his second album there. Entitled Sweet Baby James, and with the participation of Carole King, the album was released in February 1970 and was Taylor's critical and popular triumph, buoyed by the single "Fire and Rain", a song about Taylor's experience in psychiatric institutions and the suicide of his friend, Suzanne Schnerr. Both the album and the single reached #3 in the Billboard charts, with Sweet Baby James selling more than 3 million copies in the United States alone. This success piqued tremendous interest in Taylor — prompting a 1971 Time Magazine cover story — and the single, "Carolina in My Mind", put him back into the charts. Sweet Baby James was received at its time as a folk-rock masterpiece, an album that effectively showcased Taylor's talents to the mainstream public, marked the direction he would take in following years, and made Taylor one of the main forces of the nascent movement. It earned several Grammy Award nominations including one for Album of the Year, and would be listed at #103 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003. ("Fire and Rain" was also listed #227 on Rolling Stone's list of the Greatest Songs of All Time). During the time Sweet Baby James was released, Taylor appeared with Dennis Wilson ...

The Aircraft Nuclear Propulsion program researched and developed two main systems of nuclear powered jet engines. The Direct Air Cycle program was the first of these. Developed by General Electric, this facet of the program was based in Evendale, Ohio. The Direct Air Cycle program was popular because it was simple, reliable and suitable and the engines were able to start quickly. It worked by letting compressed air run through the reactor of a conventional jet engine where it could be heated before being exhausted through the turbine. The X-39 engine was produced by this program and it proved to be highly successful with several upgrades made to the system at later stages. The final HTRE-3 would have most likely been used to power the X-6 nuclear propulsion aircraft if the project hadnt been scrapped.

The Day After (1983) Part 10

The Day After (1983) Part 10 Tube. Duration : 10.08 Mins.

Few American movies have dealt as graphically with nuclear holocaust as The Day After, which accounted for the controversy that surrounded the telefilm at the time of its initial network broadcast. In previous films, nuclear warfare was a matter for crusading politicians or military might, but here, both are kept in the background (the airman played by William Allen Young is more concerned with returning to his new wife than his duties) and the focus is fixed firmly on middle America--literally so, as the setting is Lawrence, Kansas, the near-center of the country. Audiences are briefly introduced to a representative cross-section of American life, including a doctor (Jason Robards), a young bride-to-be (Lori Lethin), a graduate student (Steve Guttenberg), and an academic (John Lithgow), before the Bomb hits nearby Kansas City. The ensuing destruction is utterly horrific, but a few manage to survive to struggle vainly with rising radiation levels and the slow, inevitable collapse of society. As a protest vehicle, The Day After is a triumph--its scenes of nuclear devastation remain the most powerful statements against nuclear armament ever depicted. It's buoyed by strong direction from Nicholas Meyer, who previously specialized in fantasy (Time After Time), and a capable cast who weather the material with grim determination.

Three Mile Island - A Near Nuclear Environmental Disaster

At around four o'clock in the morning of March 28, 1979, Reactor 2 at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, close to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, had a serious problem. At that early morning hour its non-nuclear cooling theory broke down and failed.

When the theory failed cooling water began to drain from the reactor. As a effect the reactor core experienced a partial melt down.

Nuclear Reactor

After that, one problem seemed to lead to another. A valve stuck and the operators made a estimate of errors. In increasing there were form errors and faulty sensors.

All of these things contributed to the publish of radiation into the air. However, it was about one thousandth the estimate of radiation that was released during the explosion at Chernobyl.

Luckily the containment buildings that surrounded the reactor held. If it didn't, approximately 18 billion curies of radiation could have been released into the atmosphere.

Some nuclear power advocates soon started to say that because the containment buildings held it meant that there couldn't be any serious nuclear accidents in the United States. However, a lot of experts said that the only thing that prevented the accident from being any worse was due to one thing and one thing only. And that one thing was pure luck.

According to the experts the reactor core was highly close to becoming hot sufficient to melt down completely. And the only theorize that total melt down was prevented was that security measures were implemented immediately.

Nobody is no ifs ands or buts sure exactly how much radiation was released as a effect of this nuclear accident. There are estimates that approximately 2 ½ million curries of radiation escaped from the reactor. As a security precaution, some days later, all of the children along with all of the pregnant women within an 8 kilometer radius of Three Mile Island were evacuated.

Subsequent to the disaster some of the elderly folks who lived in the area died prematurely and local residents developed distinct types of cancer. In addition, around dairy farms reported that a lot of their animals had died as a consequence of the accident.

In August 1979 the reactor cleanup began. By December 1993 - the time the cleanup had officially ended - the cost amounted to approximately 5 million.

Between 1985 and 1990 close to 100 tons of radioactive fuel were removed from Three Mile Island.

Although Reactor 2 was only on line for 3 months it was not safe to walk in and its reactor vessel was ruined. So it was accomplished permanently.

In 1985 Reactor 1 was restarted. However, a estimate of plans for building the same kind of reactors were later dismissed.

A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - by Isao Hashimoto

A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - by Isao Hashimoto Tube. Duration : 14.42 Mins.

Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto has created a beautiful, undeniably scary time-lapse map of the 2053 nuclear explosions which have taken place between 1945 and 1998, beginning with the Manhattan Project's "Trinity" test near Los Alamos and concluding with Pakistan's nuclear tests in May of 1998. This leaves out North Korea's two alleged nuclear tests in this past decade (the legitimacy of both of which is not 100% clear). Each nation gets a blip and a flashing dot on the map whenever they detonate a nuclear weapon, with a running tally kept on the top and bottom bars of the screen. Hashimoto, who began the project in 2003, says that he created it with the goal of showing"the fear and folly of nuclear weapons." It starts really slow — if you want to see real action, skip ahead to 1962 or so — but the buildup becomes overwhelming. www.ctbto.org Multimedia artwork "2053" - This is the number of nuclear explosions conducted in various parts of the globe.* Profile of the artist: Isao HASHIMOTO Born in Kumamoto prefecture, Japan in 1959. Will the entire Arab World Go Nuclear - Nuke Weapons for All?

It is phenomenal how many nations have nuclear weapons, and it's unfortunate because it all started with the United States. Russia had given nuclear technology to China, China had most likely given it to North Korea, and now North Korea wants to go into the nuclear weapons business, as a sideline export manufactures to pay for the economic travesty they've created there. The Pakistanis have also sold nuclear technology to Iran, Libya, Algeria, and several other nations.

There is an old Rand narrative which shows the nuclear proliferation over the years, with a nice graphic. In just viewing it for a few minutes, you can see the problem. Eventually, every nation will have nuclear weapons at this rate, it's exponentially growing. That's unfortunate because there are so many rogue nations which threaten world security.

Nuclear Weapons

Worse, if Iran has nuclear weapons, and they have already funded international terrorist groups, and used these terrorist groups as proxies to serve their political will, then that means ultimately some terrorist group will end up with a nuclear weapon, and then all bets are off, and no one is safe.

There was a troubling narrative recently floating colse to the global news, on websites, radio, and Tv world-wide about a statement made by the Saudi Government. The narrative on Cbs News put it best perhaps in an narrative copied from World Watch on June 29, 2011 titled; "Saudi Arabia: If Iran Builds Nukes, So Will We," by Joshua Norman - the narrative was quite inspiring and basically started out with these statements;

"Mideast watchers probably could have seen this coming: A Saudi Arabian legal has warned that his country will not tolerate losing a nuclear arms race to Iran. A senior legal in Riyadh told the Guardian Newspaper: "We cannot live in a situation where Iran has nuclear weapons and we don't. It's as straightforward as that. If Iran develops a nuclear weapon, that will be unacceptable to us and we will have to follow suit."

Well, the narrative goes on to scare the "ever-living bejesus" out of anything who reads it, and it is inspiring because, it's not that these facts are not known, most every person in diplomatic circles, military, or brain society is well aware of the nuclear arms race in the Middle East, but when it is put in such "matter-of-factly" terms, it is a rather ominous, roughly Armageddon-like. What is the world advent to, you might ask?

Well, here is the deal, we have a occasion right "here and now" to alter the policy of history for a positive outcome. If we fail, we know the potential eventualities, probable outcomes, and catastrophic calamities that could occur. Yes, it seems that frugal decision-making at this juncture in history is quite important. No one can blame Saudi Arabia for wishing to have nuclear weapons, if their enemy Iran has them too.

It is said that Venezuela will ultimately have a nuclear bomb (thanks to Iran and perhaps Russia), and then of policy Brazil and Argentina will wish to follow suit, and you can bet Evo Morales in Bolivia will want nuclear weapons. Once that happens Ecuador, Peru, and Chile, along with Columbia and half of Central America will want nukes, and let's not forget Cuba. And then there is Mexico, which on any given day could be said to be a fallen state, and that's right next door.

We need to stop this nuclear proliferation here now. beyond doubt I hope you will please reconsider all this and think on, because this is a worldwide problem and it's quite serious.

Will the entire Arab World Go Nuclear - Nuke Weapons for All?

Skeletal Muscle Allows Movement - How? What Powers Muscle Contraction?

Skeletal muscle is made up of very specialized cells which have the quality to shorten when they are stimulated. Using the irregularity of reflex mechanisms, such as the knee tap by a physician, movement of our skeletal muscle mass is under the command of our brain, as mentioned earlier.

Because muscle mass cells are very long they're often often called muscle fibers. The materials are bundled up like a box of dry spaghetti or straight wires in a cable. The muscle fiber bundles are themselves bundled up and are component of larger collection of comparable bundles which make up a exact muscle. Skeletal muscle mass is so named naturally because it's commonly anchored at each ends to distinct bones of our skeleton by tendons.

Nuclear Power

When muscle contracts, it pulls on a single bone, which moves the bone, therefore sharp a whole body component. Like neurons, skeletal muscle materials are also excitable. In fact, the excitability
process of muscle cells is very comparable to that of neurons, while the terminate succeed is various. Excitability in muscle materials leads to the contraction from the muscle mass cellular while neurons merely carry the electrical nerve impulse to someone else neuron or to skeletal muscle or to other tissue and organs.

The within of skeletal muscle fibers seems surely distinct from other cells due to the contractile apparatus it contains. Every muscle mass fiber contains a gigantic whole of small fibrous units called myofibrils. The prefix myo refers to muscle mass and fibril indicates small soluble fiber. Each myofibril is a stalk-like option of proteins.

The predominant proteins are actin and myosin, that are referred to since the thin and thick filaments, respectively. They're organized into a series of small contraction regions called a sarcomere.

Myofibrils are composed of thousands of sarcomeres situated side by part.

When skeletal muscle fibers turn out to be excited, calcium (Ca2+) channels open and calcium floods in and colse to the myofibrils and bathes the sarcomeres. Calcium then interacts with exact proteins related with actin and induces sarcomere contraction.

The contraction of one muscle soluble fiber is truly the net outcome of the shortening of all the small sarcomeres in every myofibril within that cellular. Further, the contraction of the muscle itself is the net outcome of contraction and shortening of muscle mass fibers that make up that muscle mass. Skeletal muscle tissue have someone else distinctive characteristic.

They consist of an organelle known as the sarcoplasmic reticulum that is surely a modified edition from the endoplasmic reticulum discovered in other cells. This organelle shops large quantities of calcium. In fact, when a skeletal muscle cellular is stimulated, most of the calcium that bathes the sarcomeres surely comes from the sarcoplasmic reticulum.

In order for muscle materials to contract, a great deal of Atp must be used. Some of the power released from Atp is utilized to vigor the contraction. Interestingly, Atp can also be important for a contracted muscle mass cell to "relax" too.

Once the muscle is no longer becoming stimulated, Atp assists the thick and thin filaments to dissociate from one someone else so that each sarcomere can return to some relaxed (or unstimulated) position. In addition, Atp is required to pump calcium away from intracellular fluid of the muscle mass soluble fiber. Calcium is either pumped out of the cell or much more likely into sarcoplasmic reticulum organelles.

If Atp is deficient, muscle mass materials turn out to be locked in a contracted state called rigor. Rigor mortis happens once the human body dies as the integrity of muscle cellular membranes decrease. This allows calcium to leak into the contracting regions of muscle mass materials from the extracellular fluid and from inside the sarcoplasmic reticulum.

As a outcome, calcium bathes myofibrils and contraction is invoked. Ordinarily there's sufficient Atp in these
dying cells to vigor the contraction. The dying cell then remains locked inside a contracted state.

accepted Electrical Power Plants

Conventional means that something is normal or generally used. According to this definition, crude oil, natural gas and coal, which are used most often, are determined accepted sources of energy. Power plants which use these raw materials to originate electricity are referred to as accepted power stations and produce around 85% of all our energy needs.

Crude oil, natural gas and coal are organic compounds used broadly in the previous amelioration stages of countries. Coal is understood as a solid fuel rich in carbon or, in a broader sense of the word, the combustible remains of plants and other organic substances which have been transformed into brown to black sedimentary rock over a long geological duration as part of a process of carbonisation.

Nuclear Power

Carbonisation is the conversion of plant matter as it is converted first into peat, then into black and brown coal and finally into anthracite. This requires a large amount of plant matter in a damp location followed by its deposit into thick mineral sediment layers. Carbonisation then takes place with the absence of air and under high climatic characteristic and pressure, where the content of hydrogen and oxygen in surrounding material decreases and the share of carbon increases. It can only be called coal once the share of combustible matter exceeds 50%.

Crude oil is a light to dark green, thin to thick oily blend made primarily of hydrocarbons. It is formed over several millions of years from the decay of sea plankton and the influence of pressure during the earth's previous stages of development. Natural gas is a blend of gases which occur plainly in the earth's shell.

Conventional power stations presently use these raw materials for the output of heat or electrical current. But this process of transforming one form of energy into someone else burdens mankind and nature in that the burning of coal and crude oil frees the carbon dioxide (Co2) bound to these substances and later released into the atmosphere. This gas, which can be found in very small amounts in the air, which we breath, contributes to the warming of the earth and the greenhouse effect.

Japan's desperate 'nuclear gypsies' Video Clips. Duration : 2.75 Mins.

With the current economic downturn, many of Japan's poorest are so desperate for work that they are risking exposure to dangerous levels of radiation at the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant. The growing number of so-called nuclear gypsies, who come from across the country, are working to repair the reactor crippled by the March 11 tsunami in the northern city of Osaka. Its a job with severe health risks that most are not willing to brave. Nuclear Nightmare North Korea(5/5)

Nuclear Nightmare North Korea(5/5) Video Clips. Duration : 5.63 Mins.

On May 25, 2009, North Korea announced that it had successfully conducted its second nuclear test, having expelled all international nuclear inspectors as a response to a tightening of sanctions by the UN Security Council which had punished NKs long-range ballistic missile test conducted in April. NK is now determined to revive its atomic weapons and other advanced missile development programs despite widespread international opposition, especially from the US, South Korea, and Japan. The UN Security council thus unanimously passed a resolution to tighten NK, including inspections of cargo vessels and airplanes suspected of carrying weapons and nuclear technology. NK has sold missiles to Iran and other Middle East neighbors, and a nuclear reactor to Syria. According to the Korean Central News Agency, the North's state-run news service, "an attempted blockade of any kind by the US and its followers will be regarded as an act of war and met with a decisive military response... No mater how hard the US-led hostile forces may try all sorts of isolation and blockade, the DPRK, a proud nuclear power, will not flinch from them." Cost of War in Iraq

The Iraq war commenced in 2002 with the United States of America ousting the Saddam Hussein led Iraqi regime finally. But the mounting cost of war in Iraq all these years of war are still a weight on the minds of the economists and the taxpayers alike. A war can be categorically draining on the resources of the nation. Some optimists hold out the seminar that the war is good for the economy. But this is far from true.

The funds we commonly use while peace time to furnish food, invent homes, invent appliances waste away in a fruitless war. The more time it takes to end, more the erosion of a base of a nation. Resources that could have been channeled in inventing and developing new technologies are turned on to bear the economic brunt of war. President Bush never realized that the cost of war in Iraq shall passage so much in terms of the human as well as the monetary costs. The general estimates of the historians are that the war has extracted 15 to 20 per cent of the total soldiery spending of America.

Nuclear Weapons

The human cost of war in Iraq has also been appalling. It has been estimated that about 40,000 Us soldiers were killed in the fierce combat. The missiles and air combats were also an extra add on. On an average, 30,000 Us soldiers have been wounded since 2003.

Death of so many soldiers is a great loss for America, a country that cherishes its citizens. The costs for the specialized care of the wounded soldiers also incurred vital expenditure in the form of procuring and transporting the healing teams and high-priced surgical equipments. The exact cost has been reported to have exceeded two trillion dollars.

The cost of war in Iraq would have been very meager if instead of going directly to the war; alternative strategies in order to cut down the costs would have been formulated. It is world known that the weapons of mass destruction (believed to have been hid by Saddam Hussein) were the chief factor behind the initiative of war by the United States. But after the war was over, still the United Nations inspectors were not able to find the actual weapons but only the future potential. So, a straightforward pressure could have been created by deploying half of the soldiers that went to Iraq on war, as a inhibitive to spy on the activities there.

The cost of war in Iraq, however, had some benefits of deterrence as well if the economic costs are not taken into the consideration. It is not much widely known that the war categorically forced countries like Libya to make open its nuclear secrets for the first time ever, fearing retaliation by the United States of America. So, at least the destruction of the polity and economy of Iraq served as a good example for the Middle World countries that were going berserk testing nuclear, chemical and even the biological weapons in future. Libya categorically surrendered its arsenal of the weapons of mass destruction as well as all the well researched nuclear programs and the future plans.

University spokesman Keith Nichols described the leak, discovered Saturday, as the size of a pinhead and that it was leaking about 10 gallons per hour from the 15000-gallon tank. "This is a research reactor and considerably smaller than a commercial power reactor," said Gerry Wicks, the university's reactor health physicist. "Its design significantly limits the possibility that, even under the worst circumstances, this facility presents any kind of danger."... www.wral.com NC State says nuclear reactor leak poses no threat ...NC State said the leak was suspected on Friday and confirmed on Saturday. It said the public was not informed sooner because of the low level of danger. The amount of radioactivity was compared to what someone might receive getting an x-ray... abclocal.go.com Total BS courtesy of 'the church of science'. Fear of Nuclear Weapons, Shouldn't We All Have This?

The one fear that I have had to constitute a calculate or put logic behind happens to be the fear of nuclear weapons. I find this fear completely legitimate and in fact wonder why everyone wouldn't suffer from this considering the fact that we are after all talking about the most destructive force man has created. This is a huge issue as it affects everyone in the world anywhere they happen to be. We undoubtedly need to do something about our use and storage of these weapons any way who knows when we will be smart sufficient to.

The name for the fear of nuclear weapons happens to be Nucleomituphobia. As you can expect there are legitimate fears of these troops of destruction. They happen to have the destructive power and force to end life on this planet as we know it. Therefore again I say it isn't an unreasonable fear at all.

Nuclear Power

Especially when they land in the hands of population that don't fear using them. This begins to escalate into an unfortunate issue. One button press is undoubtedly all it takes and those that fear these evil creations understand that anyone that results in that button press is going to be anyone but positive.

I think the logical thing to do is rid the world of nuclear weapons so to avoid any possible miscommunication or understanding and man happening to issue one on some part of the world. This would lead to dire consequences and all because we can't seem to understand that having nuclear weapons happens to be benefiting no one in any real situation at all. Nuclear power may be an arguable topic at this point but that is for someone else issue and someone else article.

Again the fear of nuclear weapons is right on a legitimate fear that many may face in their lives. The only real way to ever solve this problem is to get rid of nuclear weapons in general.

Thermal Power Stations and Incinerators

Thermal power stations and incinerators are galvanic power stations in which the chemical energy of solid, liquid or gaseous fuels, as with atomic energy, are transformed into electrical energy.

At the outset, raw materials used in thermal power stations are burned and the working substance (medium) or water, which is under pressure in the boiler, is converted into steam. This steam then drives turbines, whose mechanical energy, at a later stage, is used to drive generators, which in turn generate electrical energy. The electrical current generated in this manner eventually attains its desired force and voltage straight through the use of transformers. Any waste heat which may be created during this process is turned into liquid by cooling within condensers and sent back to the boiler. The condensing heat which is generated straight through this process can also be used.

Nuclear Power

These types of galvanic power plants also make it potential to generate long-distance heat. The principle behind this type of heat works by transporting steam straight through large pipes to a distant location, where it releases its heat energy to heat up buildings. The condensed water is then piped back to the galvanic power plant, where it serves once again as a working and vehicle medium.

The most varied of substances, in the form of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, are used as fuels in thermal power plants and incinerators. A fuel is a substance whose atomic bond energy can be burned to be transformed into electrical energy and includes such fuels as brown coal, black coal, wood and peat. Crude oil is carefully a liquid fuel and natural gas is carefully a gaseous fuel.

At present, Germany covers 95% of its electrical needs straight through the use of thermal power stations and incinerators. Considering the addition contamination and pollution of the environment, this issue is becoming a serious problem. By burning fuels, harmful substances are released, made up mostly of compounds of coal, sulphur and nitrogen which contaminate the air, soil and water, in turn causing harm to habitancy and animals.

Thanks to photosynthesis, plants are able to take off these contaminants. However, with the advancement of industrialisation and the increase of contaminants, plants are not capable of processing all the pollution, disturbing the balance of the natural cycle.

Solar Power - A Good Idea Or an expensive Add-On?

Advantages and Disadvantages of Solar Energy

The worlds confidence on fossil and nuclear fuels has to stop otherwise the planet faces catastrophe. The world's leaders know this but most refuse to use alternative forms of power like solar citing the cost as being the main conjecture they won't change. This is ignorant as using alternative power sources like solar power will pay for itself over time and unlike many of the fuels we use today, will not pollute our planet with greenhouse gases and other poisonous gases.

Nuclear Power

Advantages of Solar Energy

We get solar power from the suns rays which are free of fee to us all. Consolidate that with the fact that the sun is producing power all the time and its clean power then solar power is useful to all who use it and the planet to. The minute we do have to pay for is facility of the solar power ideas but over time this can be recouped by producing power that is free to the user with no electrical bills to pay.

Solar power is clean power which means no harmful Co2 or other noxious gases being pumped into the atmosphere. With fossil fuels like coal, gas and oil the poisonous gases released when using these fuels is choking the planet resulting in a turn in weather patterns and increased earthquake and volcanic eruptions.

Once the solar power unit has been installed maintenance will be minimal. There are very few exciting parts to worry about and the panels themselves will sit there quietly, lapping up all the suns power and converting it into efficient, clean energy. As for noise well you will never know its there as its so quiet. Unlike oil pumps which need to be operating most of the time and make a noise, solar power units do not make noise even though they are working all the time too.

Oil is high-priced all round there is no 2 ways about it. high-priced to get out of the ground, high-priced to refine and high-priced to get the fulfilled, product to our cars and homes. And with the market being evaporative the price of oil could go up and up resulting in higher power bills for all. With solar power the power is free from the sun and after the preliminary outlay is paid for then the power you yield will be totally free. No extracting or having to refine it then distribute it to households the suns rays are free, totally free.

Disadvantages of Solar Energy

Well the first disadvantage you have with using solar power is the cost. The whole setup is very high-priced and is quite a setback for most population who are keen on installing an sufficient form of energy. There are governmental subsidies and grants ready and each country differs from the next but the preliminary outlay for this type of project is rather large.

The Only Way Forward

Using the earth's resources for renewable green power has to be the way transmit if we want to sustain our gorgeous planet. It is free and as long as we humans are on this planet then wind, sea and solar power will be here to. And once the facility is faultless you can be sure that the solar power unit will start to recoup that money you have initially laid out fast and within a short time start to pay for itself. Then the power you yield will be totally free to you. Heck you could even sell some unwanted power back to the power business and make some money too.

Nuclear Attacks Bob Gleason :Coast To Coast Am : Part 2 September 6, 2011

Nuclear Attacks Bob Gleason :Coast To Coast Am : Part 2 September 6, 2011 Video Clips. Duration : 38.88 Mins.

Author Bob Gleason, an expert on 2012, talked about his extensive research into post-nuclear apocalypse and how current events are aligning to provide a very real possibility of a nuclear event in the United States. It's very difficult to manufacture nuclear bomb fuel, but once you have it, "it's surprisingly easy to cobble together a group of Hiroshima-style nukes," particularly in the case of suicide bombers, who become the triggering mechanism themselves, he warned. A Hiroshima-type bomb would have the initial temperature of several million degrees, and create a fireball/blast wave that would destroy everything in a radius of one mile. "It leaves a kind of vacuum and everything gets sucked in," and is the one true weapon of mass destruction, he said. It could be difficult to trace the origin of a nuclear attack, he noted. One scenario, called "Catalytic Nuclear War," plays off of this. A "small vengeful power creates the illusion that one of the superpowers is nuking the nations of the Earth," and this could start a devastating nuclear war between two superpowers, he detailed. The Middle East remains a region of concern, and Gleason recommended getting free from dependence on foreign oil, because we're "bankrolling people who dislike us." He also cited nuclear energy plants as being problematic. He suspects that many nations keep or want such plants (which are not cost efficient over the long term), because they have the potential to contribute nuclear fuel for weapons ...

Environment and group convert - The Bataan Nuclear Powerplant Revival

In a functionalist perspective, the revival of the Bataan Nuclear Powerplant is practical because it is a remedy for the energy urgency our country is experiencing, it will also generate employment, it will make use of those Filipino nuclear engineers who have gone abroad because there are no industries for their field here and it is foreseen as a factor that will attract more business since there will be no power shortage. On the other hand, the friction law views this revival as a threat to the environment, condition of the population and attracts corruption.

I believe that public convert is all the time accompanied by sacrifices, revolution and mistakes. It might be true that we do not have the perceive yet. It might be true that it poses a threat to life and environment. It might be true that it is only for the benefit of corporations but not local houses. But this does not rule the fact that we still have power shortage. The nuclear powerplant in any country have undergone these kinds of protests before they were set up.

Nuclear Power

But in the end, after some mistakes (like the Chernobyll plant), after some blood, after some sacrifice- its main purpose have been achieved. But due to some experts who said that the location is not safe because it is on areas with active seismic conditions, I advise to have it relocated. We must not be afraid.

When will be the right time for us to change? We must remember that when there is change, there is hope. And when there is hope, there is prosperity.

Countdown to Midnight - The Doomsday Clock

Ever since 1947, a clock has been counting down the minutes until the end to humans. It is for real one of the most unique clocks around. Although the Doomsday Clock isn't for real a functionally working clock, it is a real measuring device and is watched by many citizen waiting for its infrequent movements.

The Doomsday Clock is the creation of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, and its purpose is to furnish a part of the vulnerability of humans from various threats. These threats, according to the Bulletin mentioned above, are in general the nuclear weapons in the world, climate change, and emerging technologies in the life sciences. Although the latter two threats are often talked about in the media, it is the first threat, nuclear weapons, that has caused the Doomsday Clock to move the most in the past.

Nuclear Weapons

How the Clock Works

Basically, the Bulletin's board of directors meets periodically to discuss the various threats to the world. They reconsider the nuclear developments and ambitions of countries nearby the world, and decide to move toward or away from midnight. Since its creation in 1947, the clock has been moved eighteen times, with the last movement occurring in 2007. In the sixty-two years of its existence, the clock has moved back and forth, but is now only two minutes away from when it started.

Over the years, the clock moved back and forth, with 2 minutes to midnight the most hazardous time (during the height of the cold war), and 17 minutes away the safest (the fall of the Berlin Wall, and an arms allowance treaty between the Usa and the Ussr). The last time the clock moved however, from seven minutes to five minutes, a distinct threat entered into the equation. This time, the effects of climate change contributed to its movement, which was from 7 minutes to 5.

Although climate change is gaining momentum as a serious threat to mankind, it still does not for real collate to nuclear weapons. A large part of the infer for the tick-down to 11:55 was nuclear activity by North Korea and Iran. There are over 27,000 nuclear weapons in the world at the time of this writing, and of these, 2,000 of them can be launched within minutes. Obviously, this threat is more ominous than that of an earth-destroying force of nature. This is one clock that citizen should keep a closer eye on. In fact, most citizen have never even heard of it. Five minutes to the end of time seems precariously close, and certainly warrants close attention.

U.S. Air Force Personnel Claim Ufo's Disabled Nuclear Missiles

It is my understanding that Robert Hastings, author of Ufo's and Nukes: wonderful Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites, claims that if there is ever a nuclear charge - North Korea, Iran, Pakistan - wherever - that nuclear payback would not happen. These old "nuke guardians" for the U.S. Air Force claims to have whether witnessed first hand or were told of other servicemen that witnessed a Ufo aircraft essentially disabling United States nuclear weapons systems, including the one in 1967 at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Later, in what was then the Soviet Ukraine, Russia claims that a similar incident occurred in 1982 - hence the claim that "extraterrestrial beings are concerned in the world's nuclear arms race..." What I don't understand? How does that equate to... And may be sending humans a message". Wtf? population all the time have to take things to the extreme.

The first thing you have to ask yourself is, do you believe in aliens? Can you fathom the idea that there are extra-terrestrial beings in a universe unknown? Most of us are dumbfounded and unsure. It is after all ludicrous but, Is It?

Nuclear Weapons

Now, that being said, it was also reported that at the National Press Club (That is where they were in Washington - not Capitol Hill testifying) these seven old servicemen recounted personal sightings or reports from subordinates about Ufo's "hovering" over nuclear missile silos or storehouse areas in the 1960′s, 70′s and 80′s. It goes on to say that three of seven that went to Washington hadn't even unquestionably seen the Ufo's themselves...

But, were able to narrate that they "appeared to have temporarily deactivated some of the nuclear missiles" based on being told by other subordinates. What is the three that unquestionably don't know anyone at all even doing there? Moral maintain for the wacko?

Let me ask you something.

How many of you have seen a Ufo? lol... I ask this because I have. Now, granted, it was usually something silly like a satellite but...there are many of us that have wondered and I mean seriously wondered. I do believe that extra-terrestrials do exist (interestingly adequate - the Catholics are allowed to believe this now too) but, I think that Robert Hastings probably saw something that scared the shit out of him and he truly does believe it to be Ufo's. But, I personally think that Hastings is taking this too far... Almost like it's a sickness now.

It's more of a gut feeling because I think that if the Government notion this was unquestionably an issue they would show the way an investigation - yes, there have been investigations but - I just think that if there was any merit to this claim the government would try to make the data "classified" therefore, rendering the servicemen incapable of discussing it surface of approved, controlled environments.

I also wonder why this surface force quit "monitoring" nuclear weapons systems after the 1980′s - or did they? You would think that if this has happened person would have tweeted it by now...

Zero Point Field vigor Wand Sparks Body's curative Power

What I would like to write about here with regard to Zero Point Field vigor originates somewhere between old natural therapeutic wisdom and futuristic technology.

I am not a scientist and do not pretend to understand all aspects of this subject matter. It is my desire to at least give the reader a remarked of the astonishing advantages and life-changing possibilities that reside in the operation of allowing our bodies to be reminded of the disease-free state they were in once upon a time.

Nuclear Power

When we look at an object under the great lens of a microscope, say a part of your body or the tile floor, etc., as you delve down deep into the buildings of the object, the electrons, protons, and neutrons appear to be similar. Going even deeper, we find the sub-atomic range. But between these sub-atomic particles is what is known as Zero Point Field Energy.

In the interest of space allotted for this article, I will not effort to get any more technical than the above paragraph. Suffice it to say that when this Zero Point vigor is directed at an object such as a plant, water, wine, a dog, our bodies, etc., incredible results begin to occur in the recipient object. Results that I dare say, if I were to retell in information here, 90% of the readers would simply not find believable.

This Zero Point Field vigor or anything gadget is used to direct at an object or a man is not the source of anything curative might occur. Either this vigor is delivered from a pendant, a wand-type instrument, or any other vehicle, what I am attempting to retell is not any type of voodoo, magic or any other such nonsense. It is not the object of delivery that brings such astonishing results, oftentimes within minutes. Instead, as alluded to above, it is simply a car allowing our bodies to be reminded of its cells that are experiencing pain; that they should go back to 'source', or back to when they were in a near-homeostasis condition, i.e., a natural health prior to pain and disease.

It appears, at this writing, that the most intensive, concentrated manner in which to apply Zero Point vigor is straight through a gadget shaped like an ink pen referred to as a 'wand.' This wand is directed at an object (or a person) and rotated in a clockwise appeal with emphasis on the area in which one is desiring to see a inescapable effect. In doing so, the private keeping the wand is, in the case of a person, reminding the natural curative properties of the body to go back to source or back to their health prior to pain and/or disease.

Various tests have been undertaken in order to get even more undeniable proof of what Zero Point Field vigor is capable of affecting. One such test involves slicing a lemon into four pieces. Two pieces of the lemon are wanded for practically thirty seconds. Those two slices are then given to volunteers for a taste test. The lemon, in virtually each touch tastes sweet and delicious.

Then the other two slices which had not been wanded are given to the same person. Each time, the participant is astonished at the sour taste of the unwanded, pesticide-laced pieces of the lemon, many times to the point of needing to spit it out.

There are new testimonials coming in truly on a daily basis as to the wonders of properly applied Zero Point Field Energy. Citizen speak of pains from all areas of their bodies that have fully disappeared. Pains such as continuing migraines, knee, neck, and back pains to name just a very few. Some are reporting astonishing changes in their animals as well.

I have just discussed the tip of the iceberg here. But any way you slice it, (no pun intended) Zero Point vigor is affecting Citizen in very inescapable ways with truly zero side effects.

Area 51 - Place For Experimenting the secret Weapon

The U.S. Government once had declined the existence of Area 51. What is it that they try to hide? Or it is the army of extraterrestrials? If one asks that which U.S. Soil is the most hidden area; the retort might be Area 51 as there are many citizen claiming that they see Ufo (Unidentified Flying Object) flying over such area frequently and so many citizen guess that Area 51 might be army or commanding area of Ufo.

Working morning Every morning of working day, there are at least 500 citizen passing the entrance going up to the airplane with definite guard which is at the wing of the Northwestern area of Maccaran Airport in Las Vegas. The owner of this restricted area is Eg&G - Edgerton, Germesausen and Grier.

Nuclear Weapons

These citizen have to furnish password of Jnet followed by three-digit id. Amount before entering into Boeing 747-200s without any sign identifying whose aircraft it is. This airline has flight very half hour with destination at Groom Lake, the hidden area that the U.S. Government department declines the existence many years ago. Experimenting area of hidden aircraft Area 51 or called Groom Lake is 90 miles far to the north from Las Vegas. In fact, Area 51 was once the location of soldier army of the U.S. Established in 1955 with the purpose to test U 2 Spyplane

And it is used as the place of study as Aurora Project. These fighting planes would be tested the operation at Groom Lake. When they faultless the test of fighting aircraft, then they would announce to the communal that the army has built new weapon already.

History of Area 51

In March, 1955, Kelly Johnson, the designer of U2 Spyplane, had been assigned from Cia to develop U2 Spyplane. Besides, he had been assigned to work in looking for testing place for this U2.

Kelly had sent staff, Tony LeVier, the pilot to test U2 with Dorsey Kammerer to discover the area in the middle of desert at the South of California, Nevada, and Arizona. Two weeks later, Tony came back with record sent to Kelly and Kelly compared 3 places then decided to select area near the Lake Groom in Nevada.

Lake Groom has many names as from the time when the base was founded. Kelly called it the Paradise Ranch. However, after testing U2 in July, 1955 then it was called in brief as Ranch. In fact, this air base (secret) was officially called Watertown Strip according to the name of one town placed at the North of New York which is the native town of Alen Dulles, the Director of Cia at that time.

Background and origin of Area 51

In June, 1958, the Atomic vigor Commission - Aec had used the area around Groom Lake together with U.S. Army in order to experiment new hidden projects; they called this as Nevada Test Site. The Commision had divided the area into various parts then designated Amount to each part, the area which is air base obtained 51.

As from that time, every time when Hollywood creates movie implicated with hidden project of the U.S., they often refer to Groom Lake but just in a brief way as Area 51 called by the Aec although the hidden experiment of Aec was ended in 1970.

In 1970, the U.S. Air base had busy this area permanently in order to sue as testing new fighting aircraft and experimenting Mic 21 Aircraft and other contemporary weapons of Russia confiscated by U.S. In 1967.

In 1975, Area 51 had been carefully as area for replicating the air fighting under Red Flag. Then this Area 51 was called in brief as Red Square, the semi-formal name was "Dreamland. And during 1970s, there had been experimenting of project on space and the most contemporary aircraft as Tacit Blue.

Expanding territory The air base of Groom Lake was expanded during 1980s again and the airport was built, building for storing airplane was built on flying field to be easy for hiding from the sight of stealth satellite and radar. It is unbelievable that it is used as the commanding area of Testing center of fighting aircraft called Detachment 3.

Although the protection was increased, the area was still be taken photo because the surrounding area of Groom Area was mountain. Inn 1984, the U.S. Army had to strengthen this restricted area with the hope to prevent whatever from looking into the area. However, there were another 2 spots that could be spied which was 12 miles far from the Groom Lake to the South which was White Side Peak and free time Ridge. In 1995 then the army announced this as restricted area as well.

But such restricted area was only equipped with warning sign without any fence as such restricted area extends widely. The protection guards were arranged to safe the place including the anonymous protection guards with contemporary weapons. This patrol anonymous area is called Cammo Dudes with supporting helicopter as Silkorsky Mh-60G Pave Hawk

Various hidden projects use Area 51 as experimenting area are gently ended such as the testing of Tacit Blue was faultless in 1985, the testing of Advances Cruise Missile or Acm.

Advances Cruise Missile

Was canceled in 1992 The test of Stand-Off attack Missile is finished in 1994. However, the air force of U.S. Still established the operation center there. It is inherent that air force still had other missions that had never been disclosed. In 1989, the Television center of Las Vegas had broadcasted the interview of Robert Lazar.

Robert Lazar- The man who claimed that he once worked in Area 51

Robert said that he had been assigned to study into spacecraft engineering of extraterrestrials in Area 51 with 9 cycle spacecraft falling down in restricted area called S4 or Papoose Lake which was 10 miles far from Groom Lake to the Southwest.

The story of Robert was extremely criticized. It made story implicated with Ufo come to be more tangible. The cycle spacecraft might be the test of resistance ideas of gravity. Of course, this great technology must be covered as top secret. Besides, there was test of spy plane with more speed than sound for 5 times using new machine such as Pulse Detonation Wave machine and with high-speed airplane driven by hydrogen power; the test of air plane with more speed than sound many times is called High-Mach Vehicle.

The buildings of air plane with characteristics as mixing between A12 and D21 or called Super Valkarie. There were many citizen once look at around Area 51 which was often the area for testing spacecraft from other planets. according to the statement of Robert, S4 was the place for testing the study and study into Ufo under the name of Moondust.

Robert worked in the lab together with Barryy Castillio, the scientist. Each study group was separated and worked in various divisions. They were microscopic to have just a few colleagues. Barry was only one colleague who helped Robert in studying and searching for the driving of spacecraft.

The first day that Robert voyage to S4, he was taken to nursing room to discover his skin. He was coated with many kinds of substances around many spots on his arms. On the following day, the staff checked his skin. And he was ordered to drink some substance that would make him to have good immune system. The substance drank by Robert had smell like the pine. In that night, after he drank such substance, he had cramp at his stomach. It was the side ensue of the substance. Subsequently, Robert was introduced to Rene. He did not know that who is Rene and what is his duty in S4. There were only 22 staff working in S4. The supervisor of Robert was Dennis Mariani.

He knew Dennis at the time of interview at Eg&G Company. At that time, there was office placed at Maccarran Airport in Las Vegas. At present, it was moved to Nellis Air Force Base

Hand Held Metal Detectors: safety Essentials

As well as in schools and government buildings etc, hand held metal detectors are often an leading part of security procedures.

In today's society, we all need to do everything we can to safe our loved ones and ourselves. A great method of locating and preventing the use of risky items such as handguns or knives is the hand held metal detector.

Nuclear Weapons

In countless places all over the country, including courtrooms, warehouses, jails, airports, schools, embassies, correctional facilities, hospitals, nuclear power plants, venues for extra events and more--security operations rely on the use of hand held metal detectors.

Although primarily used for security, hand held metal detectors can also be used for recreation. Searching for inexpressive items at home, at the beach or in even in the park. This website includes the largest conglomerate of information on hand held metal detectors including the latest, most technologically developed metal detectors available.

As most technological equipment rapidly advances, so does the science behind the development of the metal detector. And as sorry as it is to have to admit that we, as Americans may undoubtedly need this much protection, it is as the saying goes--"better safe than sorry" when it comes to security and security.

There have been some events in current history that have made us aware of the unfortunate necessity of having hand held metal detectors ready for all kinds of facilities. The ones we fear most, being the airports--if terrorists are going to try another assault on our country, many believe that they are likely to assault from the air. Since the 9/11 attacks this country has felt more fearful, flying, and airport security has tightened immensely. Part of this advancement in airport security is the re-enforced reliability of hand held metal detectors to preclude disaster.

Along with catastrophic dangers from the sky, somehow children and young adults have been able to entrance guns, knives and other weapons and have come to be a danger to themselves and to their classmates in schools--and criminals effort to bring weapons into government facilities, banks stores etc.

The need for hand held metal detectors is as significant now as it ever was, and there are all kinds of metal detectors to suit the definite needs you need to meet for your security objectives.

market Uses for Silver

Silver has been used for a vast number of things over the years. Originally used primarily in jewelry, coins, and artwork, it has seen use in the past century for photography, dentistry, mirrors and optics, and even healing applications. In 2001 roughly forty percent of the silver consumed worldwide was in industrial applications, however, and that number has prolonged to climb. Here, we'll go over a few of the base industrial uses for silver that you are likely to see, as well as some of the less known applications.

One of the most base industrial silver uses is in the manufacturing of musical instruments, particularly in wind instruments. Flutes are often made out of silver allow or plated with silver, which not only gives them their unique appearance but also carries unique frictional properties, which helps flutes furnish their sound.

Nuclear Reactor

Silver is a noteworthy catalyst, and thus is used in oxidation reactions. Formaldehyde is created from methanol and air by using silver screens or, sometimes, crystallites, which are made up of 99.95 percent silver, by weight. Silver is also the only known catalyst that can convert ethylene to ethylene oxide, which is later turned into a component for making polyesters. This reaction has a vast number of uses in the industrial field.

Silver also rapidly absorbs free neutrons, and as such is often used to create operate rods that help regulate fission chain reactions in pressurized water nuclear reactors. These are typically made of an alloy consisting of about eighty percent silver. Silver can also be used to make soldering and brazing alloys. When used on bearing surfaces, a thin layer of silver can significantly growth galling resistance, and can also help sell out wear under heavy loads.

Silver is also used in the manufacturing processes for all from batteries to electronics. The uses for silver are wee only by the technology and imagination of those in the industrial market, and habitancy are constantly looking new ways to use of this staggering metal. Whether it's fighting bacteria, producing unique chemical reactions, or simply being stamped into coins, silver's unique properties have ensured that it will be an extremely useful metal as long as mankind is around. If you are curious in silver applications in the industrial or other fields, the things you will want to focus on are its varied roles in catalytic reactions as well as its brazing and soldering applications.
