In a functionalist perspective, the revival of the Bataan Nuclear Powerplant is practical because it is a remedy for the energy urgency our country is experiencing, it will also generate employment, it will make use of those Filipino nuclear engineers who have gone abroad because there are no industries for their field here and it is foreseen as a factor that will attract more business since there will be no power shortage. On the other hand, the friction law views this revival as a threat to the environment, condition of the population and attracts corruption.
I believe that public convert is all the time accompanied by sacrifices, revolution and mistakes. It might be true that we do not have the perceive yet. It might be true that it poses a threat to life and environment. It might be true that it is only for the benefit of corporations but not local houses. But this does not rule the fact that we still have power shortage. The nuclear powerplant in any country have undergone these kinds of protests before they were set up.

But in the end, after some mistakes (like the Chernobyll plant), after some blood, after some sacrifice- its main purpose have been achieved. But due to some experts who said that the location is not safe because it is on areas with active seismic conditions, I advise to have it relocated. We must not be afraid.
When will be the right time for us to change? We must remember that when there is change, there is hope. And when there is hope, there is prosperity.
